The Department of Water, Land and Biodiversity Conservation (DWLBC) was established under the Minister for Environment and Conservation in 2002 with an objective to improve sustainability through the integration and management of all of the State's natural resources and to achieve improved health and productivity of biodiversity, water, land and marine resources. The department has approximately 500 employees with 35 business units and spans 8 divisions. There are 9 central business district and metropolitan locations, 2 outer metropolitan sites and 9 regional sites.
The department sought the delivery of a scalable, proven application to assist with fulfilling its responsibilities in managing its asset base. The ability to perform strategic planning with seamless integration into maintenance management functions differentiated AssetMaster from competitors while complying perfectly with the primary requirements of the department. The diverse range of assets under the control of the department covers lake systems, waste disposal, drainage systems and State flora through to plant, equipment and vehicles. A robust Asset Management Information System (AMIS) incorporating asset registration, financial asset accounting and flexible reporting functionality with easy integration to corporate applications was needed.
AssetMaster delivers seamless integration to the departments finance system, GIS and email. It can operate as either a standalone solution or as an integrated module of the overall ICT system. “InfoMaster is rapidly becoming the vendor of choice with State Government departments”, said Geoff Reeves, General Manager. “The capability of our software is being recognised by agencies with a broad range of assets needing tight management, ad hoc reports and forward planning functionality”. InfoMaster was recently declared the vendor of choice when the Queensland Department of Main Roads selected AssetMaster over other vendors with their keenly contested asset tender.
DWLBC required an application that provided advanced functionality like performance management, risk management, predictive modelling and life cycle costing along with other features that may be deployed as their future needs expand. The availability of these inherent functions made AssetMaster a clear winner and InfoMaster is proud to add DWLBC to its growing list of State Government customers.
